Also known as the Powder Blue Tang and Powderblue Surgeonfish, these natural canvasses are a true beauty to behold, from the yellow dorsal fin to its dark colored face and powder blue body. It can reach an average size of 9 inches in length, with an oval shaped body that is compressed laterally. Like other surgeonfishes, it swims with its pectoral fins. The caudal fin has a crescent shape. The fish also has a “surgeon’s scalpel,” an erected part of the spine located at the base of the tail.
